Do endorsements influence your primary choice?

I honestly don't pay attention to endorsements and am surprised to see many XXXXX was endorsed by YYYYY posts on this forum, are these endorsements something that are going to influence you or are they just background noise?

But this year, if either of the Obamas made an endorsement I would pay attention. Hillary too.

I would take it seriously. Not saying it would change my vote, though. I would give it great weight.

But in some instances I feel as though a minor "victory" has been achieved if the endorser aligns with a candidate I prefer. A sign and acknowledgment of my own bias I guess.

Except in the occasional sense of a negative impact. Let's say, for example, Ted Nugent endorsed someone. Then I would think there was something wrong with that candidate.

A lot of endorsements are just horse-trading. But, there are commentators and activists who I respect, and are outside the usual influence game, and I will listen to their endorsements, although obviously it won't automatically change who I support.

Also from newspapers, pols I align with, and some lobbys like AARP and Planned Parenthood.

Endorsements are very key.

Obama could endorse Yang even though he is out an Yang would come in 2nd in most states. Exaggerated yes but not that far off from reality.

In order of endorsement magnitude (IMO):

Barack Obama

Jimmy Carter tie Bill Clinton

Hillary Clinton tie Michelle Obama

Oprah Winfrey

but just because he and 6 others i admire endorsed someone i would never consider at all no i don't think they could influence me much

19. Endorsements are important if they come from potential superdelegates
Sat Feb 15, 2020, 02:41 PM
Feb 2020

All democratic members of congress and governors plus delegations from each state will be superdelegates at the Democratic National Convention. Their endorsements may actually be turned into votes if none of the candidates gets a majority of votes in the first round of voting at the National Convention, a scenario that is becoming increasingly likely. Even if (on the worst case scenario) everyone but Sanders, Bloomberg, and Steyer run out of money ...
