It reminds me of a conversation I had about this. When I first began to learn about the way Black and Brown people have to work to survive, I began to think about the injustice of demanding that people defy the logical impulse to survive by running away. When I said as much to a friend she looked at me like I had lost my mind. Reflecting on it later brought me to tears because I realized that survival meant denying a natural impulse of self protection. Like when people are advised to "let the criminal have the money, car, etc" in the event of a potentially violent crime. It's the very essence of white supremacy to deny the humanity of non white people by imposing deficit of the doubt on Black and Brown people in policies and cultural norms.

Biden wrote the crime bill and BS got the crime bill passed.

Is stop and frisk worse than black men being incarcerated at ridiculous rates?

None of our "B" guys is any good on race. Which one is addressing it?

...that Sanders never got anything significant passed, huh?

I don't know that he got it passed, but he did vote for it. Unfortunately, you can't vote for just the parts of the bill you like. If he'd voted against it, people would now be saying he voted against the Violence Against Women Act, because it was in the same bill. But if you look at contemporaneous statements and videos, you'll find that (unlike Biden) he spoke out against much of the bill and tried to get amendments passed to improve it. So it's not the "black and white" issue it might appear.

re: "Is stop and frisk worse than black men being incarcerated at ridiculous rates?"

Although I'm not a fan of the "what's worse" game when it's all bad, I'd say S&F is at least worse in one respect, that a much greater percentage of the people affected had actually done nothing wrong by any measure, nor was there even a justifiable suspicion that they might have. It wasn't just unfair in its application, it was unfair in its very premise.

I've also heard members of "Moms Against Guns" express their belief that taking guns out of poor communities does protect -- or in too many cases, would have protected -- their kids.

________________

"Two years ago, a Bloomberg organization spent more than $4.5 million to help McBath oust Republican incumbent Karen Handel. McBath, whose son was murdered by a gun-wielding assailant, had served as a spokeswoman for the group.

"So her support for Bloomberg, who announced his candidacy late last year, has never been in doubt. “Mike gave grieving mothers like me a way to stand up and fight back. Nobody running for president has done more for the gun violence prevention movement than Mike,” McBath said in the press release."

Personally, I'd support stopping and frisking every ignorant looking white winger walking down the street, especially if they are wearing a MAGA hat or trump shirt. I suspect we'd get a lot of gunners like this off the street:

no more contraband or guns than would have turned up without shredding 4th amendment rights.
He turned targeted neighborhoods into police states, ruined young lives, and seriously damaged relationships between communities and police. This in turn made crime fighting more difficult and endangered police. Even members of NYPD turned against this draconian policy.

As to his campaign against Muslims? Not ONE lead was developed out of it.
