Bernie Sanders Minces No Words In Takedown Of Rival Michael Bloomberg

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/bernie-sanders-michael-bloomberg-attack-nevada_n_5e48fcefc5b64433c6178bd2

The Democratic presidential contender said in Las Vegas that Bloomberg will “not create the energy and excitement we need to defeat Donald Trump.”

“Regardless of how much money a multi-billionaire candidate is willing to spend on this election, we will not create the energy and excitement we need to defeat Donald Trump if that candidate pursued, advocated for and enacted racist policies like ‘stop and frisk’ which caused communities of color in his city to live in fear,” Sanders said, referring to Bloomberg’s complicated legacy as New York City’s former mayor.

I think Bernie is right. I see a lot of posters at DU saying in so many words that they don't like some of Bloomberg's record but since he is the only one who can beat Trump they are supporting him. Well, I respect their sincerity but I think they are wrong. Quite the contrary, Bloomberg cannot defeat Trump IMO and that's the main reason why I don't support him.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It's straight Democratic. There's no reason, from a POLICY standpoint for 2020, to be turned off as a Democratic voter. The likely reason NOT to vote for him is deciding to give more weight to his past record and statements, rather than his present or future plans and rhetoric, and that's fair.

Why would anyone reject a candidate who voted with Republicans against the Brady Bill and for the PLCAA and vote instead for a citizen-activist leading the fight for sane gun laws?

Ask Fred Guttenberg and the Sandy Hook families.

He was for sensible gun laws when Bernie was still voting against them. In ten years, 350,000-390,000 people died from handguns that the Brady Bill would have helped corrall, Sanders voted against the Brady Bill five times.

Why has this not been done in the debates... Why is Sanders not being made to answer for how his plans actually work? He needs to be properly vetted on the debate stage and see if he can stand the heat.

The candidates' records on guns will come up in the next debate, as will stop and frisk AND the 1994 Crime Bill.

He will either be upset at the reporter for asking, pivot into his stump speech or invoke the magic revolution that will suddenly make all republicans in congress vote for his proposals.
We heard that before.

streets of NYC and other big cities. How does a big city Mayor get guns off the street once those guns have flooded into the city?

Will Bernie apologize for the close to 1 million dead victims of gun violence during the ~30 years that he opposed sensible gun control laws?

The reason Bloomberg is climbing in the polls is that all he does is attack Trump instead of the other candidates.

Stop and frisk was immoral and ineffective. But on a separate note, incarcerations in NYC went down 39% under Bloomberg.

Bernie, on the other hand, helped pass the crime bill that led to the unwarranted incarcerations of thousands of black men.

I don't want to be stopped and frisked. But I want to be wrongfully incarcerated even less.
