Biden admits South Carolina may be make-or-break for campaign

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden suggested on Sunday that winning South Carolina’s primary was of the utmost importance for continuing his beleaguered campaign.

Biden was asked by NBC’s Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press” whether South Carolina was the former vice president’s last chance to make up ground in the 2020 race after suffering lopsided losses in Iowa and New Hampshire,

“Well, I think I have to do really well in it, but right,” Biden said.

Biden added that then-Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton endured a string of primary losses in 1992 before picking up his first win, saying that upcoming delegate-rich states with demographics that are favorable to him will help make him the front-runner before the end of March. (Clinton lost in Iowa, New Hampshire Maine and South Dakota, before securing his first win in Georgia.)

Biden bashing from all quarters, I won’t begrudge him a little PR. The fact is things have
changed only recently and week by week. I don’t suggest he throw in the towel yet. As a contributing supporter, I applaud his speaking to his potential. It is still there.

in S.C. If he is still hopeful, well, as I said...last time I looked he is leading candidates who in terms of the nation, not projected to have ANY chance at winning the primary. But I do take your point.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
