(713 posts)I think Sanders operation is smart to do a lot of these rallies. If they will come out to see Bernie speak, they will come out to caucus and vote for him. This is similar to the evil genius of Trump, insofar as Trump is not completely an idiot.
Trump does big rallies as often as he can. Most conventional Presidents stop campaigning once they have won, but Trump has continued to campaign and do big rallies starting right after his inauguration. I think this has helped Trump mobilize votes, by constantly charging up his base. We need to beat him at this game.
The same sort of principle applies- people who will bother to come out for a rally will probably also come out to vote. It is about mobilizing your supporters. This is why my instincts say that Sanders would be a strong opponent to Trump. Anyone that can bring out big crowds like this has a shot, I think.
Anyway, I am wondering how many people are coming out for Warren, Klobuchar, Mayor Pete, and Biden. I hope everyone is coming out for them as well. The more total voters we can mobilize as a group, the stronger our chances against Trump in November. I vow to actively fight for and vote for whoever wins the Democratic nomination for 2020. Blue No Matter Who!
