Michael Bloomberg has made it his late lifes mission to take on the National Rifle Association, calling the organization shameful, dangerous and extreme.
The problem now that hes seeking the Democratic nomination? In his final year as New York mayor, Bloomberg compared two groups core to the Democratic base a local faction of the American Civil Liberties Union and the New York City teachers union to the NRA.
We dont need extremists on the left or the right running our police department, whether its the NRA or the NYCLU, the then-mayor Bloomberg said of the New York Civil Liberties Union, in a 2013 speech in which he defended the citys controversial stop-and-frisk policy.

(111,267 posts)that is gleefully combing through everything he's ever said for the undoubtedly dumb stuff he's definitely said over the years.
He's not terribly popular among Democrats, so one wonders why they're making the effort. Could it be that his attacks against the Orange Excrescence are effective?
I'd love to see this crap stop. We all know who Bloomberg is, he's a rich guy with all those funny rich guy fallacies rattling around in his head, which is why he has said so many dumb things. This is enlightening no one.
I just hope it's not the kind of thing that will put him on the ballot in November. While I like his campaign against the OE, I prefer any of the other candidates for their experience in DC and how things are done, as well as many of their policies.
