The whole "vetting" thing.

I hear people complain that Bernie isn't "vetted", and then list things that should be "vetted" about him, like what he said about Castro 40 years ago, or some rape fantasy essay he wrote also 40 years ago, or his honeymoon, etc. Which, first off, looks to me he actually has been "vetted," because everyone complaining already knows all the smears, it's just that only anti-Bernie people care about them.

People say "just wait until the GOP unloads on him." Yes, that will happen. It will happen to any candidate. Surely "vetting" doesn't mean people want fellow Dems to start running GOP-style smears against each other, just to see how it goes.

For example, we all know the GOP is going to run ads about Hunter Biden. But I, for one, am extremely happy that none of the Dems have done that. Not even in the "vetting" sense of "I know this Hunter Biden thing is total bullshit, but this is what the GOP is going to say, so let's talk about it."

The GOP will engage in dishonest attacks and smears. The Dems should not do that to each other, even in the name of "vetting". So kudos to all the campaigns for staying away from all that.

3. So why isn't the GOP unloading on Bernie now, like they are on Biden?

And in fact, promoting Bernie? If they're going to "do the same to every candidate" why this coddling of one candidate and blasting another? Perhaps they have a favorite choice for Dem nominee?

False equivalence.

What "dishonest attacks and smears" have been applied to Bernie?

Just because they make you unhappy doesn't make them dishonest, attacks or smears.

I noticed that you didn't hesitate to slide a Hunter Biden 'dishonest attack and smear' into your post. Interesting how you try to equate the false smears on Biden with the "vetting" - facts coming to light about Sanders.

4. There is Nothing

in any candidates background that is as remotely devastating in comparison to what the reps have on sanders.

Hunter Biden is a nothing burger (even the reps know that)

The sanders "stuff" is real (often on video) and devastating.

Call me crazy but I don't think Klobucher bashing her staff is in the same league with a video of
sanders smiling and clapping at a Sandinista rally while the speaker shouts "death to Yankees."

7. The crazy thing is, only Sanders can legit hold all of Trumps KaKa up to his nose.

And Trump knows it. And I think most Dems know it too. It just would mean a few people who control the message would have to walk their walk and talk their talk.
For instance, the Sandinista thing - did any Dem cry over the Iran/Contra scandal being called out? Did you cry a bit for brave Ollie?

in the GE.

And their whole handling of Bernie with kid gloves, and talking about how he's "being treated unfairly by the Democratic establishment!!!" just shows how much they don't want him to be the nominee.

Makes total sense.

...Amber Alerts happened much more recently than 40 years ago.

His votes against the Magnitsky Act and Russia sanctions occurred much more recently than 40 years ago.

His refusal to participate in the vote for sanctions against Oleg Deripaska (99 others participated) was barely a year ago.

His absence for votes in the Senate for more than six months (late June 2019 through early January 2020) was much more recent than 40 years ago.

Why should Americans support someone for a new job when he's been absent from his current job (at $174,000 / year)?
