Against Non-Traditional Republican Donald Trump; POTUS Re-Elected in Vote 'Today' If Opposition Nominates Perceived Weak Standard-Bearer:
On the eve of the Nevada Caucus, with a battle of the billionaires taking shape, former Republican Mike Bloomberg, a rich New Yorker running as a Democrat, defeats former Democrat Donald Trump, a rich New Yorker running as a Republican, 50% to 43%, according to SurveyUSA's latest nationwide tracking poll of likely voters nationwide.
Here is the top-line, sorted in order of strongest Democrat showing to weakest:
* Bloomberg defeats Trump by 7 points, unchanged from 30 days ago, effectively unchanged from 60 days ago.
* Bernie Sanders, an independent Democratic Socialist, defeats Trump by 5 points today, 50% to 45%. Sanders had led by 12 in November.
* Joe Biden defeats Trump by 3 points today, 48% to 45%. Biden had led by 13 points in November.
* Pete Buttigieg defeats Trump by 3 points today, 48% to 45%, unchanged from last month.
* Elizabeth Warren runs even with Trump today, 47% POTUS, 46% Warren, the 1st time in 6 months Warren has not led.
* Trump edges Amy Klobuchar today, 46% to 44%, unchanged from 1 month ago.
* Trump defeats Tom Steyer today, 49% to 42%. Last month, Trump and Steyer tied.

(8,168 posts)Bernie is right next to Bloomberg and it's interesting seeing the differences. The expected differences are there, but aren't as big as you'd expect based on internet hype. 2-3% seems small, I suppose one could say that may be the difference in the election, but there's so many of those small differences one direction or the other, how can one draw any overall conclusions about the electorate?
Edit: one interesting difference is Mike is beating Rump in the South and doing better than Bernie everywhere (Northeast, South, Midwest) but the West, a possibly significant advantage in the critical electoral college.
