... IN SWING STATES in areas of lower enthusiasm
- because of what socialism stands for in older generations minds
- for the less than popular MFA vs Pub option.
- for "your middle class taxes are going to go up by I don't know how much"
That Sanders presents!!!
********THIS IS A FACT AND FACTS MATTER****
the Sanders campaign nor his supporters have presented much evidence behind any consistent Sanders appeal for the swing States screw national polls they don't mean anything it's the swing states that mean a lot.
has anyone out there heard a logical explanation on those three points from anyone from Sanders could anyone else articulate what their answer for these things are?
Thanks in advance for your input

Seriously, you can't stop someone from running. So, perhaps we should wait to panic until after, oh I don't know, more than two states have voted?

(7,425 posts)I am resigned the likelihood Sanders will win the nomination and Trump will be reelected. I am am talking to my daughter about his to survive a progressive young woman in a red state in Trumpmerica. She will be spending her undergraduate years watching the destruction of the modern Republic and perhaps the doom of the planet. I hope her generation can restore it and succeed where mine has failed.

None !!!
The only one who has done this has been Biden
And I don't think anyone outside of trump or Bloomberg has terrorized people of color with openly racist and meant to be racist and hurtful policies

(8,231 posts)not who I like the best not for this or that. I have ONE FOCUS and that is to beat dump. Absolutely nothing else matters. I am quite upset that not everyone else has this one focus. I thought after the last 4years that is all we care about...but apparently policy wishes trumps dump.

(90,367 posts)... stupid policies and "revolution" or some bullshit is all the M$M can focus on.
They're still not focusing on swing states to this day save MJ and even they need the ratings by spouting national poll bull.

(14,337 posts)about 40 miles from Scranton where Biden is from. My county voted for Hillary by a very small margin. No campaign signs here whatsoever.
My daughters, their spouses, and I all voted for Bernie last Primary, but voted for Hillary in the General. Younger daughter and SIL are supporting Amy. Older daughter and her wife are for Warren.
I have gone though a process of elimination. No, not Sanders this time. Don't like all the nastiness, attacking other Democrats, plus his age and health. Considered Warren but have eliminated her as well now getting on the same attack bandwagon as Sanders.
I do like how Bloomberg ads are focusing on Trump, as it should be. Know all about Mike as a NYC Native who lived on LI during time he was Mayor. NO, NO, NO more Hillary as a running mate.
Pretty much decided on Biden in the last week. I absolutely LOVE how he said he would like to have Michelle as his running mate. Not happening, but a Biden/Obama ticket?????? Oh, YEAH.

(1,689 posts)Flip 100,000 votes in PA, MI, WI, OH, so-called rust belt states and the Dems can win. Nominate a candidate that can run a campaign to do that. If we have a candidate that gets every single vot in Ca and NY we will still lose due to the electoral college.

(90,367 posts)... polling like it matters cause they're not threatened .... YET (there's no doubt Trump would start jailing and killing M$M crew if he had a second term)
I bet if it was M$M kids Trump was taking they wouldn't give a damn about national polling and their ratings
My issue with Sanders is he's shown no appeal in those areas ... NONE and no one even the candidates are making him answer for his lack of appeal.

(11,607 posts)He and Bloomberg were tied for the biggest margin in Michigan, he was in the middle of the pack in Pennsylvania, and in Wisconsin, where they are all losing pretty badly to Trump for some reason, he and Biden had the smallest deficit. Even in Florida, where I expected Bernie to have no chance due to the fact that many people associate socialism with Fidel Castro, he and Trump were tied.

I share the concerns everyone here has about Bernie being another McGovern, but for some reason polls so far, including swing state polls, do not seem to reflect that. If there's opposition research out there that could change it, then it's time for Democrats to start using it and running ads against him. Either it takes him down or it doesn't, and if it doesn't we'll know he's not as unelectable as some of us feared.

(16,685 posts)Anyone who is predisposed to vote against someone because they are a "socialist" is not going to vote for a Democrat. Period. If they tell you differently they are lying. Repukes are calling all Democats socialists and now communists and have been for decades.
Conservatives who say "I would vote for so and so because he's not as far-left as so and so" are making the same argument with you that I do when I tell my conservative family members that I think John Huntsman isn't so bad. It's true but I would never vote for him because I would never vote for a Republican.

(90,367 posts)... voting FOR ... meaning people stay at home or the enthusiasm stays within politicos and has no cross appeal which is showing in the swing states for Sanders in the last 3 months
Your second statement confirms the word enthusiasm ... Of course I wouldn't vote for a republican if there was a choice between a sane democrat and a sane republican but if the democrat was a TEXT BOOK genocidal* racist like Trump be damned if I'm not holding my nose and voting for a republican that year.
That goes away if said republican was seen as a less than better contrast, I'd stay home ... and that's what people are going to do with someone who calls themselves a socialist, supports MFA and says taxes are going to go up for the middle class by "I don't know".
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

(6,110 posts)Because the NON_SOCIALIST governments for last 90 years since the great depression have ignored the bottom 66%
who are major part of bankruptcies due to healthcare bills, they can't afford to send kids to good college causing rip-roaring high student debt levels, their family incomes are stagnant while food, healthcare and college tuition keeps galloping ahead.
Yeah, the middle class is so badly squeezed, a socialist sounds worth the risk compared to what is happening to them now.
