Bloomberg Loses Ground Following Debate Debut in Las Vegas
A Morning Consult poll conducted on Thursday found the share of voters who said Bloomberg was their first choice for the Democratic presidential nomination fell 3 percentage points since before the debate, to 17 percent, while none of the other candidates in the race saw gains or declines outside of the surveys 2-point margin of error. It marks the first statistically significant decline in Bloombergs first-choice support since he entered the race in November.
The survey was conducted among 2,609 voters who indicated they may vote in the Democratic primary or caucus in their state.

With 30 percent of support among Democratic primary voters, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) still leads the race nationwide heading into Nevadas caucuses on Saturday, followed by Biden, at 19 percent.

(199 posts)People who thought Bloomberg was gonna take a 10 point nosedive and Warren was gonna get a 10 point surge at this late stage were sadley mistaken. You need a major scandal to get those types of shifts.

(14,565 posts)I'll never understand the popularity of that type of thing. Trump is going to resign. Trump is not going to be renominated. Sanders will be a repeat of 1972.
If Bloomberg has a good debate next week he could easily ascend to a level above where he was prior to the Nevada debate.
Day to day details types are always prone to overreact. The best way to forecast is to ignore today. Just keep ignoring today. Your mind wants to inject new variables and pretend that today mattered. Most likely it meant nothing. I always keep in mind all those cars driving down the road, flashing past without knowledge or concern about anything happening today.
