I'm very glad to have this forum available to discuss primary candidates.

I am, however, a little troubled by some posters, who drop a thread-starting post and then never return to it to discuss the replies that come in. I would hope that people who begin a thread do so with the intention of replying to at least some of the responses.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me that if you take the time to make a statement about a candidate or supporters, you should be willing to discuss your statement with those who might disagree. That's especially true when what you wrote is negative in nature about a candidate or that candidate's supporters.

I realize that some people on DU are infrequent posters, but these are important topics. I'd like to discuss them with the original poster.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

trolls in disguise, and are doing this just to cause discord. And most of them have declared candidates too, whom I won't mention. That's okay. But, they seem to get outraged when someone suggests otherwise or hear something about other candidates that they don't like.

I have noticed this and IMHO, I don't think they realize that they are doing more damage to their declared candidates than they realize. I overlook these for I'm giving their candidates the benefit of the doubt, despite them and their one sided statements/declarations and them not giving any other candidates the benefit of the doubt.

And that for them it's their agenda to stir things up and divide the posters here on DU. It happens every primary, and then on into the General election. They simply pick a candidate, and "claim" to be supporters, they don't care if their actions make that candidate look bad.

I will admit that some hit and run posters may not fit in that group, but if all they post are things that are meant to cause problems, and are negative, they are probably trolls of one kind or another.

Just my two cents worth.

we learn to pretty well ignore their rants and raves (don't read). They just lose their effectiveness.

Take care!

He was a troll, and MIRT got him, not surprisingly.

"That's especially true when what you wrote is negative in nature about a candidate or that candidate's supporters."

Actually, they should be alerted on and the offending comments removed. We are not supposed to make mean comments about other DU members.

and see no need to repeat what has been said.

And them there is the strange case of someone who was very active on a thread about tax returns, many responded and s/he came during the night and deleted all his/her posts leaving the rest of us to huh?

If there's an issue about a candidate that comes up and I don't have something positive to say, I'll be quiet.

We have a great field of candidates and it seems like there r only trolls or people shilling just their candidate at the expense of the others.
