Asha Rangappa on what Bernie should do if he's nominated.

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1231601904184066051.html

THREAD. If Bernie is the nominee, he needs to DEMAND, vocally and repeatedly, that the IC thoroughly investigate all Russian efforts to boost his campaign, provide him with regular updates, and for Trump to immediately take steps to ensure election security. This serves 3 goals:

FIRST: It gives teeth to his assertion that he does not want the help and that he is willing to stand up to Putin. It illustrates, unequivocally, that he takes the side of our intelligence agencies over Russia and himself. It gives needed support to our IC.

SECOND. It's an obvious contrast to Trump's actions in 2016 -- i.e., it's how a person who is horrified at foreign election interference would behave. It also drives home the point that when one is innocent of collusion, one does not fear counterintelligence measures to stop it.

THIRD. It puts the onus on Trump to do something. Remember that if Bernie gets nom AND wins, Trump will contest results, claiming that outcome is not legit because Russia helped him. If he refuses to take action NOW, that argument rings hollow.

Any efforts to assist Bernie in the primary will then be directed toward destroying him in the general.
