(4,976 posts)and it made a big impact on me. Then in the late 1960s when I was actively demonstrating against the Vietnam War - Dr. Spock was a featured speaker at one of the rallies. He was advocating for universal healthcare when he ran on the People's Party platform, legalization of abortion, homosexuality and cannabis. He also advocated (like Yang) for a guaranteed minimum income. And he was very much against American military interventionism.
Sounds like he was very much ahead of his time and I can see why Bernie would have supported him.
Of course now those are the mainstream ideas that most Democrats would run on. But, as usual, Bernie was ahead of his time!
