Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThis will be my daughter's first presidential election
A few old time Lounge Lizards might remember her as a baby in the early days of DU, randomly pushing buttons to reply to messages and her love of Matcom''s purple hippo. She's now a sophomore in college and on March 10th will be voting in her first presidential primary. She likes Warren but is looking at Biden and Bloomberg because she wants to support the person with the best chance in the GE.
Time flies...
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

And she was obsessed with Matcom. She'd stare at that hippo and frantically type, then he'd send her a post right back with a picture of whatever.

(23,698 posts)Sounds like it'll be all over after Super Tues, maybe even after SC votes this weekend. Makes me sad that my vote has no value. Have voted in every single primary and general election since LBJ. Have fun voting with your daughter.

(12,265 posts)We all got dressed up like we were going to Church. My parents and grandparents always did that, it signaled how important voting is to our family. I have a picture of us somewhere outside the School where we voted that day. Congratulations to her, a new voter!

(12,265 posts)All of my parents and grandparents are gone now, but every time I go to vote I feel them with me. Every time something good, or something bad happens, I feel them with me, their hand on my shoulder or a kiss on the forehead. You have raised a young woman to adulthood, she will never be alone.

18 and 19 years old.
They both listened to all of the candidates, went to countless events and both settled on Warren. One caucused for her, the other had a 103 fever and wasn't able to come out.
They also will vote Blue come November.

(29,674 posts)She'll be involved in the fall, depending on the candidate. She worked on McCaskill''s campaign in 2018 and knows it takes lots of work.
She said the only campaign she won't work on is Sanders because she's already felt bullied by several of his most ardent supporters on her campus. She said she'd vote for him in the GE but she won't work the campaign. Anyone else left she would work.

(16,111 posts)but thought that the yelling would keep people from listening. That's why they chose Warren, similar message, but more detailed and better delivery.
