Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThank you, Jerry Brown!
Thank you for signing the law to move the California primary election up to March 3 - six more days! It's wonderful that California will have an early say.
California provides nearly 20% of the Democrats in the House Democratic caucus and is a leader for progressive change! It's also a leader for election reform including early mailing of ballots. Already, 13% of all Democratic early ballots have been returned and processed. I wish every state would implement these reforms.

Early vote returns are trending relatively Republican, which is the typical thing and why early returns always skew to the right and then shift sometimes dramatically late as same day votes are counted.

(23,423 posts)It'll be interesting to see where things land. California provides 30.6% of the super Tuesday delegates, so will be a significant part of the story.

(23,423 posts)There are a lot of factors to consider. The picture might be a bit more clear - or a lot more clear - a week from now.
I don't think that there will be a situation in which the Democratic candidate gets anything like high 30s (McGovern type result).

(29,213 posts)I do not believe that the swing states (MI, WI, FL, PA, OH) will vote for a socialist.
Not after the Repukes get through with Bernie.
I think Elizabeth (almost as far left as Bernie) could win a close race... and the rest can easily beat Trump...
But I will vote for Bernie if he is the nominee... though my vote here in CA is hardly worth anything.
Will you vote for Bloomberg if he buys his way to the nomination ( trust me, I will have a hard time voting for him too... but for me, all of the alternatives to Trump are better than Trump).
