Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI got my first mailer from Bloomberg today
Nice shiny high quality paper. The cover is an anti NRA statement.
Ohios' primary is March 17

(38,187 posts)She died back in early October of last year. She can't vote this year. I didn't even think about it until you mentioned the March date for your state's primary. We have ours in NC in March now, which is going to take some getting used to. We used to have it in May.

(22,756 posts)Bloomberg materials... at first it was cool, but it is a real annoyance now... my mailbox has held approx. 12 Bloomberg ads in the past week or so... I do like the nice fold out ones though!

(47,520 posts)I appreciate a good political ad, but when they play them over and over again, it is just annoying. Sometimes less truly is more.

(26,276 posts)The first was that NRA piece, then today it is a letter "From the desk of Mike Bloomberg". I've seen his TV ads, quite often, too.
I suspect he might be wasting time and money campaigning in this section of Michigan (the Flint area) being as he financially backed Rick the serial poisoner Snyder, for Governor.

He's clearly avoiding data privacy issues for online messaging by using snail mail. It's also probably costing him a fortune in postage and printing costs.

snip--"Ms. Miller, director of the League of Women Voters of Ohio, believed thousands of voters were about to be wrongly removed.
Over the summer, the Ohio secretary of state had sent her organization and others like it a massive spreadsheet with the 235,000 names and addresses that would be purged from the states voter rolls in just a month a list of people that, state officials said, some part of the bureaucracy flagged as deceased, living somewhere else or as a duplicate. The League of Women Voters had been asked to see if any of those purged qualified to register again.
Ms. Miller, who spends her work day helping register people to vote, scrolled through the names and then asked herself a question: What was her own voter status in the state?
She went online and discovered that her name had also been flagged as an inactive voter. The state was in the process of removing her from its voter rolls."
Disenrolling the League Of Women Voters director? Yeah accident my cellulite ridden ass

(14,565 posts)Likewise I received a flyer and a separate letter from Bloomberg today. I was not surprised. I have not signed up for anything from his campaign. His campaign is merely sharper and obviously better funded than others.
Donna Shalala in 2018 contacted me regularly. I am in her district. Otherwise it's like I don't exist even though I've been registered Democratic here since returning from Nevada in late 2008.
We have fallen way behind the GOP in voter outreach in Florida. Bloomberg would reverse that.

(14,731 posts)Early voting had already started.I really liked the first one which was a fold out postcard. Not voting for him but interested to see if this shower of literature will make a difference. One of my friends got her mail in ballot about a month ago. It was due about last week. Lots of people on there who are now gone but no Bloomberg.
