Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumThe Bloom is off the Bloomberg Campaign's rise.
Pun intended.
According to The Economist's polling model, Bloomberg's dramatic money fueled rise in the polls has drastically tapered off:

Good!
Bloomberg has financed too many Republican election campaigns, like Lindsey Graham's in South Carolina, to be trusted to be our nominee.
I think Elizabeth Warren has played a pivotal role in exposing Bloomberg's shortcomings to the public, and we all owe her our thanks for that!

(28,858 posts)If Harris or Castro cant compete financially they are out. But a billionaire can buy his way into the debates. It sucks.
I dont even like Harris but she should be here despite her lack of funds. Seems
unDemocratic to me.
Its just my opinion. Not some headline.

(24,397 posts)Candidates will drop out after Super Tuesday. No $, few delegates and single-digit polling. The DNC rules will force them out, if nothing else.
Fewer candidates means fewer choices in the post-ST primaries, which means support goes to who is left. And Bloomberg will be among those left because he can afford it. He can stay on the air and his double-digit poll numbers will keep him in the debates. If it gets down to Sanders, Biden and Bloomberg, that helps Joe and Mike. And if Joes fund raising doesnt improve, well, we know where that leads.

Sanders is the most polarizing figure weve had in a while. If it gets down to Sanders, Biden and Bloomberg, I think it will split the non-Bernie vote and help Sanders.

(8,059 posts)for a solid week and not come out unscathed, especially one who is new in the race. Only natural that the polls reflect it. That said, we will see how persistent he is and whether he can make a comeback. I believe now he's the best guy for the job, myself.
