that Canada, the UK, France, and Denmark are all different from the United States. Let's look at how many Democratic Socialists are in office in the U.S.

Number of Democratic Socialists in the Senate: 1 out of 100 seats
Number of Democratic Socialists in the U.S. House: 3 out of 345 seats

And yet, there are all of these people expecting a Democratic Socialist will make it to the White House. That is just more American Pie in the Sky.

So bye, bye Miss American Pie...

It’s not “socialist” lies. By all accounts, they have better quality of life, better happiness markers, and better health outcome/ life expectancies. We would do good to implement some of their programs, which by the way, are NOT socialist but heavily regulated capitalism with a very strong safety net.

I don't believe for one second these countries have a better way of life than we do. I've travelled alot abroad, have seen how people in other countries live, and have also heard these countries' citizens complain about how much tax they pay.
Warts & all, the USA is still a much better nation. We just need to make sure it does not slide into socialism or fascism.

threat than socialism. And I’ve been abroad too. Those countries have very high quality of life, there’s no denying that. And we can’t claim the mantle of being a great country while so many are dying of no medical care or drowning in medical bills for those who get care. This country has a long way to go.

And it will never happen here...we can however, building on the ACA, reach universal health care with price regulations as by the way France has, and other countries.

But America has the money and ingenuity to develop great social programs. We just don’t have the will at this time. And yes, I agree that adding a public option and maybe expanding Medicaid and increasing subsidies for the ACA will go a long way to solving our healthcare crisis.

Which US state will be the first to enact single-payer healthcare for it's citizens. When one does, others will follow.

Didn't Vermont try that a few years ago? Then they decided tax increases would be too high?

Don't we know someone from Vermont?
