Hillary Clinton calls Bernie Sanders' campaign 'just baloney'

Hillary Clinton has doubled down on her comments about Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and his campaign by calling it "just baloney"

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election/super-tuesday-bernie-sanders-hilary-clinton-baloney-a9373341.html

Hillary Clinton has attacked Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and his campaign again by calling it all "just baloney". The former first lady and senator appeared on Good Morning America to discuss her new four-part Hulu docuseries called "Hillary".

During the interview, Mrs Clinton doubled down on her criticisms against the senator and his campaign, saying her opinions about him since they ran against each other in 2016 for the Democratic Party nominee has not changed.

"That was my authentic opinion then; it's my authentic opinion now," she said. The moment during the 2016 campaign being referred to was when Mrs Clinton called his Sanders' efforts "just baloney" when getting things done in Congress. "He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done,"

Clinton said in the documentary. "He was a career politician. It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it." These opinions, she reiterated, held true today.

I can't really argue with anything she said.

The sad thing is that I really liked Bernie Sanders before he ran for president. When people asked who a decent politician was, he was someone I often mentioned. I realized after he started running for president that I really didn't know much about him outside of his progressive reputation. I sometimes get the impression that some of his current supporters don't really know that much about him, either.

...but I was a full-throated supporter of Hillary during the general; however, I still deeply regret casting my vote for Sanders in the 2016 primary. While I thought I was simply giving him support to push Hillary a bit more to the left, I didn't realize that some of his fanatical supporters would use my vote for him as a cudgel against Hillary, Democrats, and the Democratic Party for the next ~half decade.

Never again.

Judging from the precipitous drop in support Sanders has experienced from 2016 to 2020, I am glad to see that a lot of my former Sanders-supporting brothers and sisters have also seen the light.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
