Related: About this forumHere's Why Elizabeth Warren Should Endorse Joe Biden
https://www.mediaite.com/opinion/heres-why-elizabeth-warren-should-endorse-joe-biden/After the bitterness that erupted between Warren and Sanders-land after she called him out as a liar on national television, its an open question whether shed even be inclined to make such an endorsement, and equally unclear what effect that would have. A Sanders endorsement could be a completely futile gesture that would wind up not even helping.
-snip-
She could stay out, which Sanders supporters would definitely see as a knife in the back anyway, but she hasnt banked enough delegates to use as leverage at a contested convention, and the way Biden is rolling, there might not be one anyway.
But endorsing Joe Biden would give her a chance to shape the next presidency with her own progressive priorities, and flex the talents she brought to bear in forming the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She could campaign for inclusion of her plans in Bidens platform like an achievable health care plan that doesnt leave anyone out and probably have the pick of half a dozen cabinet positions. Or they could create a new one for her, a Czar-at-Large who could reform agencies and tackle problems as they arise.
The piece goes on to call Warren "a pragmatic and superior progressive alternative to Bernie Sanders whose influence shouldnt be thrown away on a lost cause that doesnt want her anyway."

(9,952 posts)Kerry was on stage for Biden. I would have preferred a Warren nomination, didn't happen. No way I would go Sanders. Bloomberg before Sanders.

(47,578 posts)is not very presidential. We've already had to endure over three years of it and it is especially unbecoming from our candidates.

(5,445 posts)of her supporters prefer Bernie as a second choice according to older polls. But the writing is on the wall that Joe will win. She is policy oriented. IF she drops out she will probably not endorse anyone and state that her supporters should choose.

(9,952 posts)bother Sanders and Warren are not so far left of Democratic policies and what we have been fighting for for decades. So one can easily say she is as closely aligned with the Democrats.

(10,839 posts)Elizabeth Warren has been an admirable competitor and a hell of a Senator. If Biden had faded, I would have voted for her. I'd hate to see her energy and advocacy for consumer financial protections get lost in political/ideological squabbles.
