Related: About this forumdoes bernie think he is making a true revolution or is it ego? A huge loss in 2016 a heart attact
and obviously not going to make it.
Why does he still do this?
Is it all for his ego?

(8,059 posts)candidates don't just give up when they're pretty close to their rivals, especially if he has money to continue. I wouldn't expect Biden to quit had the delegate counts been reversed.

(49,059 posts)many politicians. Bernie is unusual, though, in the high elective offices he ran for in the 1970s when he really had absolutely no qualifications for them.
But I don't doubt he believes his stump speeches. He thinks there has to be a revolution, and that he can lead it.
Unfortunately, with his attacks on the Democratic Party, he's likely to have so many of his followers alienated if he doesn't get the nomination that he could really hurt us.

(20,709 posts)Even without winning in 2016, he's already had a huge impact. Before 2016, hardly anyone had even considered things like Medicare for All. Now every item on his policy agenda is supported by not just the majority of Dems, but the majority of Americans.
He's inspired a generation, the young people of this country, the future of this country, are clearly behind him. There would be no AOC without Bernie. And there will be more AOCs to come.
He might not make it to the presidency, but his impact on the Democratic Party is undeniable. After decades of drifting to the right, it's now moving back left. His revolution is in progress, and will continue whatever the outcome of 2020 is.
