Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumHow Biden can win CA.. the math.
-- Currently there are about 3 million votes counted.
-- In 2016 CA Dem primary there were over 5 million votes cast
-- The turnout this year is expected to exceed that.
-- Assume a 6 million turnout so that would mean about 3 million still to be counted.
-- We are told Biden is winning the same day voting in CA but not sure by how much.
-- Assume the vast majority of those to be counted are late voters after SC.
-- So they would trend Biden.. perhaps in a big way.
-- Let say for example Biden pulls 40% and Bernie 30% in the unprocessed ballots.
3 million (unprocessed) X .40 = 1.2 million more votes for Biden
3 million (unprocessed) X .30 = 900,000 more votes for Sanders
A net gain of 300,000 votes for Biden.
Current vote totals:
Sanders: 1,055,162 + 900,000 = 1,955,162
Biden: 781,718 + 1,200,000 = 1,981,718
Biden wins by about 25,000 votes.
Wouldn't that be a kicker.

(16,132 posts)he gets EVERY vote...all the delegates, because what is 'best' is that supporters of each and every other candidate, who many of us worked hard for is ground down into the dirt while you guys dance around and high five each other about how awful everyone but your guy is.
Sounds really unifying.

(8,685 posts)I am sure you worked hard for Bernie but others also worked hard for their candidates.
It's possible Biden actually won. Should we just ignore that?

(16,132 posts)at all.
Do you believe that California isn't counting the votes correctly? That there is some kind of fraud involved? Why do you think that, because it is impossible that Biden might not win the state?
The tone of nearly every Biden supporter on this board is that they want to stick it to everyone who dared to have a different preference.

(8,685 posts)However, I guess you totally misread my post. This has nothing to do with miscounts or fraud. This is about the counts yet to come and just theorizing the possibility Biden can still win since there are so many ballots unprocessed... possibly as many as 3 million.

At this point, I'll have to hold my nose to vote for Biden (or Bernie) because between here, Facebook, and the cesspool that is Twitter, I've seen so much awful behavior/commentary from Biden and Bernie people that I am sick to fucking death of it.
But if this cycle has taught me anything it is that misogyny is alive and well...along with gaslighting of women who dare to suggest it might be a factor. There won't be a woman president in my lifetime or probably ever and it breaks my heart. It will always be "I'd be OK with a woman, but not now and not THAT woman"...doesn't matter who the woman is, she'll never be good enough.
I'll get to the point of accepting it, but right now, I'm really fucking angry.

(8,685 posts)But for some reason she just lost momentum. Warren would have made a great President.
However, my total focus now is simply beating Trump in Nov and I think Biden can do that.

"900,000 more votes for Sanders"
You should probably consider reading the OP again, this time without unfounded assumptions. You're seeing things and intent where there quite literally is none.

(23,166 posts)I read and watch news a lot so I think this would have been shown if it actually happened, only it didn't and wouldn't because that's not what we are about. We are not a cult of personality, unlike some campaigns, and we don't do that. We are pragmatists who know what an existential threat drumpf is and so we support the person most likely to defeat him in Nov. That is the goal.
Every Biden person (certainly including me) I've ever seen/known has pledged to vote for the Democratic candidate, no matter who - exactly the opposite of what you claim.
