(68,715 posts)Hillary, Elizabeth and Amy were all very qualified...Hillary won but was cheated out of the office. And Elizabeth and Amy were not even considered... I am a Biden supporter but that seems like going backwards. I truly think it was fear of losing to Trump that caused this-not a dislike of either candidate...I got a hide a while back for saying a woman couldn't win the presidency...deserved it. I think other people were afraid too. It was horrifying to watch Trump win last time. And I have nightmares about him winning re-election.
Along came a Warren supporter who gently (well maybe not gently) pointed out Hillary did win and my words contributed to the misogyny we face in this country...this was the last thing I wanted to do. I have three daughters. I apologized for saying a woman couldn't win the presidency and apologize again right now. It is just not true...that was my fear talking.
Elizabeth Warren is a fine person, a tireless candidate and a fine example for my three daughters. I consider myself a Warren supporter as she was my second choice in the end. I am sure Biden will consider Elizabeth for VP, she could help bring unity to the ticket.

(29,228 posts)never ever make a pinky promise you can't keep. If they ask for one for something that simply might not happen despite the best intentions... better to say "no pinky promise, but I will try my very best!" and do it with a reassuring smile.
