(530 posts)...I thought, for sure, people would understand that she is the candidate who would absolutely beat dumpster. Yet, the media drowned out her message and the focus was placed on Biden vs. Sanders put us squarely back into the lane of "old white male" for our options. The same thing happened to Kamala. My dream ticket was Warren/Harris (or vice-versa). I have now switched to Biden because I think he has the best chance at pulling in never-trumpers and probably about half of independents. I really like Bernie's policies but I think we're going to be in for a dog fight this year. It is unfortunate (which is a huge understatement). Let's face it: our country is by no means a functioning democracy (or republic). We live in a patriarchy and we now have to hold our noses as we vote. ugh.

(45,563 posts)I get how older women may support Biden because they think a man can defeat Trump more easily than a woman.
But just this morning I witnessed a female millennial Bernie supporter cheering on Liz's dropping out and she called her a "snake". I asked her to explain and her answer was that she didn't trust Liz and wasn't going to support a woman just because she's a woman. Weird. Whatever. It may be useful for someone to try to unpack this mentality. Gloria Steinem has her own thoughts on this but I'm not so sure.
Millennials also have many decades of life ahead of them so they can probably wait another cycle to smash the glass ceiling. Although that's what people were told last time too.
Either way, I'm a college educated minority millennial male and I supported Warren. Glad she's still in the fight in a different way, from the Senate.
