Gov. Inslee: Forget impeaching Trump. Voting him out is better.

Democratic presidential candidate Jay Inslee wants his party to scrap any thoughts of impeaching President Donald Trump and instead focus on voting him out of office.

"We should have a dramatic, engaged, concerted, energetic and successful effort in November 2020 to make Donald Trump a blip in history," Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said during a CNN town hall Wednesday.

He said damning details still could emerge about Trump's 2016 campaign and business dealings but added that a Republican-led Senate would never remove the president.

Inslee, an underdog in the crowded 2020 Democratic field, faces pressure to raise his profile in a campaign dominated by other better-known figures such as former Texas congressman Beto O'Rourke and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

He's not going to be impeached. I'd love it if he was impeached and removed, but it isn't going to happen. The chances impeachment hearings are even held I would venture to guess are extremely slim.

Vote. Him. Out.

Trump has higher negatives, we have a better chance of beating him.

I would hold any consideration of impeachment until after the 2020 election, then look at it again if we don't win.

again as an incumbent in 2024, if he took office now and won next year. To me, that is a more frightening scenario than Trump finishing this term. Vote him out in 2020!!!

Besides, if Congress gets the unredacted Mueller Report, republican committee members will leak it to undermine the impeachment process.

If Trump has to go through impeachment he'll rile up his RWNJ cohort to start shooting "lubruls".

I think we should spend our time and energy on electing a Democrat as President next year. Since the Senate would not remove him, just make the damning information about him public and we'll learn from it, and vote accordingly.

Republicans hold both houses of state legislatures in enough states to carry the electoral college for tRump. All they have to do is wait until its too late to do anything about it and purge voters like they did in Georgia and they'll win again. Any cries of foul will be handled just like they were in Georgia with it's too late to correct and it might disrupt the election. It could all be based on timing. Georgia was the proving grounds for the 2020 elections. It worked.

Georgia would have just been the cherry on the top, had things gone differently.

We CAN elect a Democratic President. I think we WILL elect a Democratic President. We can all help, in our own states.

I cannot affect election issues in any state but my own. If you live in another state, then you can. We can all work hard to increase Democratic turnout at the polls. If every Democratic registered voter who did not vote in 2016 showed up in 2020, we would elect a Democrat in a landslide of historic proportions. I suggest we work toward that goal.

We will not win in every state, but we can win in enough states to ensure an electoral college victory.

If the Mueller report is butchered beyond recognition in redaction we will never know what happened. The only way to see the evidence and hold the Republicans accountable is to hold public impeachment hearings, IF THEY ARE WARRANTED BY FACTS.

I am a PNWer and climate change was my major issue back in 2008 and since. I cannot believe that the leaders of this planet don't give enough of a sh*t to actually DO something. I dread to think what the next 35 years are going to bring.

even a tape of him giving secrets to putin , or shooting someone directly would not get support from enough republicans to remove him.

We as a country have to show the world we overwhelmingly reject him and his *gag* policies. If we don't our allies, who've given us a pass this time around I think, will walk away. Leaving us alone and vulnerable in the world.
