Bill Foster (IL-11) fends off challenge from Berniecrat in yesterday's IL primary

Foster is a scientist, first elected in the Democratic wave of 2006. Rachel Ventura was endorsed by OUR REVOLUTION, SUNRISE MOVENT and DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS OF ILLINOIS.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Bernie and AOC. It was a close race. Biden didn't endorse Newman. Lipinski voted against Obamacare, against LGBT Marriage, against right to choose and pro gun.

Can you admit Bernie did good by getting people to donate to Marie Newman?

BTW I voted for Warren even tho I'm in Illinois. She was still on the ballot and I resent that we all can't choose from the same amount of candidates.

truly adore said she just wanted to vote for her candidate...while I kind of understand. I would never do this. Warren was my second choice so if Biden had failed, I would have voted for Warren. Ah well to each their own...and while I understand about your candidate dropping out and all, you can;t have eight people in a primary all the way to the end...it wastes money and causes a brokered convention, and we have never won a general with a brokered convention.

8. Newman is a progressive. She got tons of support from mainline progressive groups.

Without that mainline help, she likely would not have won.

She worked her ass off for the past 2 years for this opportunity.
Marie had lots of local endorsements, and while National Endorsements helped, the money, ads, and phone calls (thanks Senator Warren and others) from national groups really helped this time. Dan's Republican voters that ask for Democratic Primary ballots were not enough this year. Hooray!

Sanders remains at heart the radical he convinced himself to be in the 60s. He considers the Democratic Party as much the Establishment as he does the Republican Party. He has always considered them interchangeable opponents of revolutionary action. He wishes not to ally with or assist the Democratic Party, rather he imagines he can take it over, make it over into his own image, and having thus breached the castle wall, use his new revolutionary party as the tool for destruction of the remaining institutions of the Establishment. A course of action, on reflection, rather like that of a virus towards a living cell.

Yes indeed, through both word and deed, it's been proven to me time and again who is (and who ISN'T) a friend of the Democratic party. After what we've seen in recent months, it's clear what the intent is.

He considers the Democratic Party as much the Establishment as he does the Republican Party.
Oh, I agree with that! With so many smears and attacks on the Democratic party (calling us "corrupt" and "feeble" and "the party of the one-percent" and "no different than the GOP", etc.) things like that only serve to weaken and divide. It creates distrust and resentment.

It's the source of so much negativity. Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.

A course of action, on reflection, rather like that of a virus towards a living cell.
