Biden Is Already Appealing to Sanders Supporters

It seems inevitable that Bernie Sanders will recognize that there is no longer any viable path for him to the nomination. He will withdraw from the race soon, I believe. Whether he enthusiastically endorses Joe Biden is something that remains to be seen.

However, I'm sure most of his current supporters will gladly support VP Biden as soon as Senator Sanders withdraws. Their support will be very welcome and will help us to defeat Donald J. Trump in November.

Here are the current stats from The Green Papers:

Pledged Delegate Count

Biden - 1178
Sanders - 884

Popular vote:

Biden - 9,990,332 40.91%
Sanders - 7,500,662 30.72%

For those who do want to be spoken to by the candidate, just hope they are pleased with what they hear. Of course, Sanders is still in the race.

As the election proceeds into its most dangerous stage, though, please let Americans in general take a fresh look and become aware of who Biden is, his principles and ideals, his record and what he intends to accomplish as president.

Massive RW lies have already begun and attempts at character assassination will rev up -- hugely. But just knowing what KIND of person our candidate is is extremely strong armor that will stop most Repub/Russian attempts to corrupt our beliefs on arrival.

Just starting with knowing VP Biden's a kind and trustworthy man of good character, a liberal progressive Democrat (what else?!) throughout his entire career, and a very competent experienced public servant is 99% of it. Know that, and most attempts to deceive immediately leap out for what they are or are going to turn out to be.

He seems to be good at it.

People have lost any trust they might have had in Trump. He loses people every time he appears on TV or in public. He will maintain support from a minority of voters, but that minority is shrinking all the time, little by little.

His handling of the COVID-19 pandemic is a good example. His inconsistency of message and his bungling appearances at those daily press conferences are having a market effect. People see more competent people at those pressers, and then they see Trump, who has zero competence. Even Mike Pence is putting forward a stronger presence than Trump, and he's not much good at all.

Biden, on the other hand, acknowledges the threat, talks about measure to prevent it from becoming a total disaster, and offers reassurance and promises his full attention to the problem. He is looking very Presidential these days.

and disposition most people want and being so well known are tremendous assets going in.

But although her character assassination had begun long before, Hillary was also very well known, and as SoS and senator her approval ratings were usually in the 60-70%s! But because of their years of immersion in toxic lies before and while she ran for president twice, most people, even those who like her, are unable to see the real Hillary Clinton with a genuinely clear, unstained view.

The Repubs/Russia are already busily trying to poison our views of Biden. Some of his decisions over 50 years will be twisted into weapons to turn on each of us, but those who know his ultimate goals would always have aligned with theirs, because of the kind of person he is, will make very bad targets.

No doubt the GOOPers will try to hang him with them, but it's not going to work. There's simply no there there.

Joe Biden has a sort of Jimmy Carter shine on him. People see him as a Good Guy. That's really hard to campaign against.

from being a Bernie supporter to supporting Joe whole heartedly. Initially, in our family, it was the opposite of what polls are showing, I’m the millennial who supports Biden and she’s a boomer who supports Sanders. Now we’re all behind Biden and can’t wait to kick Trump out of office

Think maybe many other families are coming together for us and against the right about now also?

One thing I'm excited about is the potential length of Biden's coattails and all those Democrats who may be swept into office on them. Due to the widespread trust and liking for someone most feel they know, including many on the right, this election may really finally turn the corner on this dangerous era by turning Republican majorities into minorities across the nation.

And then the repair and rebuilding can begin. Wooo....!
