Is he going to end up being a laughing-stock or persona-non-grata in the Senate after all of this is over? Will he have lost all respect of his colleagues?

... to be nominated. But I think calling this a "humiliation," instead of observating that Dems are not ready for his sweeping changes is not a good idea. It doesn't make his voters feel welcome in the party, and that is just not smart.

Note, I'm not suggesting that the OP was saying Sanders was humiliated. There's nothing wrong with an honest question, and I always think it's better not to impugn motives to a simple question. I'm really responding to the several replies.
