That was The Byrds, not Jimi. Having said that, I like Pete a lot, but pols have to be careful when showing off other than legislative talents. He doesn't want to get down in the weeds in a battle of the bands with Beto.

Good luck to him, I hope he goes far.

you can solo to in an interesting way, which is why I got into Jimi Hendrix”. Then he plays some cords from Hey Joe.

Pete says he can do Hendrix then plays the chords to a ballad in the style of Roger McGuinn. Now if he'd broken into the opening riffs from Purple Haze...

I'm old so I guess I shouldn't expect a youngster like Buttigieg to be interested in acid rock. I hope he doesn't try that again.

Besides kind of botching it, he didn't exactly wail like Jimi. "Hey Joe" is hardly some of Hendrix's most enthusiastic work and it came off kind of lame. I was reminded of Springstein's "Born To Run" where he sings "...I got this guitar and I learned how to make it talk"... then nothing. No solo, no feedback, just a couple jing jangy chords. wtf?

Good for Pete for trying to connect with the youth, but he may have gone farther playing some Keith Urban. He seems sincere, he should stop trying so hard.
