Bernie has a lot of people on payroll that will have a difficult time finding jobs that pay as well as what they are earning working for his campaign. Stretching things out another three months puts $25K - $50K into the bank accounts for those surrogates.

is Sanders still getting donations? I can imagine that all the way up to Super Tuesday he was, but after that, it would seem clear to a lot of donors that the campaign was going nowhere.

I know quarterly figures will be coming out in a couple of weeks or so, but is there any way to know how much they've dropped off lately?

We would have a brokered convention and I doubt that any of the members of the Democratic establishment that are superdelegates are going to be willing to have Bernie represent the Democratic party, just like most Democrats that have voted in primaries are not willing to have Bernie represent the Democratic party as their nominee.

I'm just saying that we have never seen something like this in our entire lifetimes. Trump and Pence are also very susceptible even if they have tested negative so far. If it knocked both of them out then Nancy Pelosi is next in line. If she became president would the party consider nominating her instead?

I find it bizarre (and troubling) that some are seemingly rooting for something to happen to Biden.

If this is a real hope, remember Sanders is every bit as vulnerable, and in a class with elevated risk of serious complications over and above mere age..

Nor would the vulture's hope secure the nomination for Sanders. He would be rejected in favor of some favorite son or daughter of the Party at the convention.

I specifically said that I pray that it doesn't happen. But it might. And yes Bernie is very vulnerable too and he has received criticism for staying in Vermont when the Senate was in session. Of course all he was doing was trying to protect himself.

I like you uncle Joe, but I can't deal with the Bernie excuses anymore thus I am putting any who call for Sanders to stay in and have his pic on their posts on ignore...I simply can't deal with what I see as a (deliberate?) situation where Sanders hurts Biden and ultimately throws the election to Trump. See you on the other side of the primary...when Biden is the official nominee. I only hope it won't be too late to beat Trump. Sanders apparently doesn't care if Trump wins again. Once again (2016 General) Sanders may cause Democrats to lose and help reelect a baby caging monster.

Bernie is continuing to run now so the Democrats don't win this year and thus will not be the incumbent party in 2024.

Great...good to know that Sanders' priorities are with himself instead of the country. You want a progressive revolution, be the hero and lead it from your position of leadership in the Senate. Sanders has no path forward short of something tragic happening to Biden...is that what they want??
