Such diversity.

I heard my dad say something during the Vietnam war protests...”When the grey hairs team up with the long hairs, things start to change”.

It has proven right many times over the years.

But I only viewed the two clips at the link.

Diversity in age IS a good thing.

I did see one or two Asians in the crowd, and thought I saw the back of the head of a black person, maybe.

Hopefully a closer look would show more diversity. Also, it is early yet, and it is a relative privilege for people to be able to attend campaign rallies for prez primary contenders this early in the race. So not expecting too many disadvantaged people to show up.

But had to look & comment, because of your comment. Appears to be a low bar for "diversity".

Not so much about the racial diversity. I should have been more clear.

I like to watch which candidate the senior citizen voting bloc is supporting...they are a highly sought after demographic.

At the beginning of the first clip, the area shown has mostly older people. Then the camera pans to other parts of the crowd and there are a lot of younger people. That's great!!

I think the lack of racial diversity is probably related to the time and place where the rally was held - a lot fewer black folks with time on their hands in the middle of the day in Iowa, I suspect. (even if it was on a weekend)

But, I was responding to a comment about how "diverse" the crowd was.

When the poster clarified they were referring to age diversity only, I agreed with them.

TBH, I knew Iowa wasn't the most diverse state in the nation, but didn't realize quite how melanin-deficient they are until I just now looked it up. Yikes.
