(1,588 posts)To me that is too neutral of an answer and meant to please both sides of the issue.
I'm with you Mayor Pete, but you need to be more passionate to put me over the top.

(11,631 posts)I'm not even 100% sure impeachment is the pragmatic option at this point, but I'm sure glad to support a candidate who takes a stand.

(6,377 posts)Ill be interested to see if other candidates follow her lead, or take a more neutral stance like Buttigieg did.

(12,344 posts)Buttigieg us staking out the opposite end, critical, but not focused on Trump. I sort of agree with him, but I think he if he is going to choose that lane, he should do it straight up and either say he wants voters to "impeach" or that Republicans have to do their duty now, rather than protect Trump at all costs, and impeachment is just futile without them.

(6,974 posts)Making the assumption that we'll be ABLE to vote and that our votes will COUNT, even if we come out in MASS in the Fall of 2020.
That's a huge assumption, especially since the ruskies are STILL meddling and who knows what they'll do this time around. They had a 50-state strategy of interference into our GE. Secondly, if fatso does make it out of the thuglican primary, whose to say he won't say he's not leaving if a Dem wins the presidency? Lastly, whose to know if he won't just suspend the 2020 elections? Just stay in the Oval Office and say he's not leaving Yes, it's an extreme point of view, but we know that Senate thuglicans are WITH their president, and support him in whatever he does. We also know that those assholes don't CARE about what the rule of law is. tRumps broken all rules of law that it's not funny. Yet, Senate thuglicans like soulless tRump & soulless McTurtle are right there in lock step with each other.

(40,212 posts)Impeachment needs to be on the table, but getting into the impeachment debate for the candidates is a distraction. If Trump is still around for 2020, it would be an albatross for the democratic nominee to have given him the "you wanted to impeach me" argument.
Answering this question will be a little tougher for those hopefuls now serving in Congress.
This is the reason I think this: I don't think that the democrats in the House are going to move on impeachment. I think they see the risk politically too high. So why should the candidates go on a limb for something that most likely isn't going to happen.

(2,113 posts)The car in the background just makes him look smaller than I imagined he was. I don't know as it matters one way or the other, but I am sure Trump would try to exploit it if he is short by pulling that same creepy stalking he did to Hillary in their debates.

(2,113 posts)My elbow would likely be about crotch level since I'm only 5 feet tall. I would have "accidentally" threw my elbow back really hard and fast while turning around and said, "Whoops! Sorry about that...you should never stand that close behind someone because you never know when they are going to spin around!"

(9,497 posts)so I think Mayor Pete is tall enough.
Good answer though I think congress is obligated to go forward with impeachment. Not that impeachment is all that we hope it is. It really didn't make a dint in WJC's term, in the end.

(2,113 posts)I'm happy for him. It's really good that he is showing other members of the LGBTQ community that they can do well if they run for political office. While I don't think he is the best nominee I'm glad he is in the race. His presence is important.

(2,113 posts)Could someone please explain why on earth asking how tall he is appears to be making some people mad? He just looked significantly shorter in that video based on him being next to the car in the video than I thought so it made me wonder how tall he is. Why is asking so offensive? I don't get it.
(on edit...I clicked to reply to another post...so this is not directed at you, defacto, sorry that it shows up as a reply to you, it was supposed to reply to artislife)

(12,344 posts)He's said we can't just be anti-Trump, so to stay in his lane he needs to stay out of this. Warren is staking out the anti-Trump position, so it's natural for her to be the first to call for impeachment.
