Pete Buttigieg on the presidency as a "moral office"

During his campaign announcement on April 14, Pete Buttigieg said, "America deserves our optimism, deserves our courage, deserves our hope."

CBS News' John Dickerson asked, "You've talked about improving the symbolism of the presidency. Why is that important?"

"Because the presidency is also a moral office," Buttigieg replied. "It calls this nation to its highest values. And it sets the tone for the story that we tell ourselves. Narrative's a very powerful thing. And we need to make sure that everybody in America understands where they fit in this country's story."

The messenger is the message: the youngest candidate is promising generational change with a campaign built on reanimating his party's values for a new era.

I was pretty much decided in not supporting a man in the primary (particularly a white man) because I believe a female president is long overdue and we have truly awesome women running. Pete is really impressing me though. I still support Harris but there isn't a lot to complain about with Buttigieg. If he doesnt win the nomination he would make a fantastic VP if he is receptive.

I was fipping a coin between Kamela and Warren, but he is special.

One similarity between he and Kamela is the way they smile while speaking, quiet confidence, and disarming.

but W's motto seemed to be "Vote for cowboys, not dweebs."

Pete's motto on his webpage is "A Fresh Start for America," he also says, "There is no honest politics that revolves around the word again," so he is not about restoring anything.

The word "reanimate" is from the article, and as far as I can tell, not a word he used.

I googled the term and found nothing related to "W" or politics.

I found did these three "W" slogans in a different search of presidential slogans:
"Compassionate Conservatism" – George W. Bush presidential campaign 2000
"Reformer with Results" – George W. Bush presidential campaign 2004
"A Safer World and a More Hopeful America" – George W. Bush presidential campaign 2004
