Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWe MUST Commit to Voting for WHOEVER the Eventual Democratic Nominee Is
My Fellow Liberal Americans,
I am still undecided as to who my vote will go to in next year's Democratic primaries. All the candidates have some good qualities, and all of them have certain things about them that I'm not thrilled about. However, I've always said there is no such thing as a "perfect" candidate.
That said, I am 100% decided on who I will vote for in the November 2020 general election against Donald Trump, and that is the DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE.
We can argue and bicker over why Hillary lost--not progressive enough, not exciting enough, tactical campaign errors, her e-mails, lack of a coherent message, whatever. However, the ultimate cause of why we're living in this current nightmare in boils down to ONE thing...not enough left-leaning voters voted for the Democratic nominee in 2016.
If we are to kick trump out next year and start taking back our country, we liberals MUST commit to voting for the eventual Democratic nominee in the general election, no matter who it eventually is. No third-party voting, no staying home, no excuses--it's either the Democratic nominee or it's another four years of Donald Trump.
Who's with me in committing to vote for the 2020 Democratic nominee (i.e., Vote BLUE No Matter WHO)?

(612 posts)And we remain in agreement that, regardless of the candidate we now support, the Nominee of the Democratic Party will receive our votes. As I have said before, I will contribute to our nominee, support her or him with enthusiasm, and vote for that Nominee with joy.
We are Democrats, realists and patriots. And we VOTE!

(4,558 posts)I will commit to vote for/canvass for/phone bank for/ and donate to ANY of our candidates that:
1. I can count on their supporters doing the same. I think that's all but 1.
2. I can count on them signing any Democratic Party legislation that does make its way through congress to their desk, and will veto any that the tRumpublicons manage to get through congress. I think that's all but 1.
3. Wasn't someone that I hold personally responsible for helping the current POTUS getting elected in the first place. I think that's all but 1.
So, I'm almost there with you. 19 out of 20 declared candidates can absolutely count on me to vote for, canvass for, phone bank for, and donate to once the primary process is over with. My hope against all hopes is that the winner of the primary is any of those 19, and that one will be in the best position to oust the Cheetolini.

(58,785 posts)They are a small percentage and VERY different from the rest of his supporters and critical to realize they are NOT ours to somehow keep.
Their antagonistic behaviors and continued statements indicate that after the primary theyll once again refuse to support the Democratic nominee and effectively be Trumps to win or lose to some third-party vote drain. Every election its the same thing; they can never win, but in their good years they can spoil.
Their natures create them, not our policies. They were angry at our founding fathers who wouldnt step aside for whoever they admired then as well.
On a happy note, in 2018 the 31 states that require voter registration alone had 12 million more registered Democrats as Republicans. And they were not registering so they could vote to spite Democrats in the midterms.

(12,165 posts)These threads are getting increasingly bizarre. Im not sure what you are trying to accomplish, op, by saying what has already been said ad nauseam.
But since I saw your thread, I decided to opine for no other reason than because I clicked on it.
