(9,227 posts)Every day our democracy slips farther away. And this new gilded age of kleptocrats are fine with it.
It's sickening.

(207,628 posts)I was talking with a friend earlier today and we were pretty sure that SCOTUS would let the immunity decision stand - and then I came home and heard the news. I've felt nauseous ever since.

(207,628 posts)An attorney on MSNBC recently said that TFG's lawyers could plead "diminished capacity" which would land him somewhere other than jail - but he also said that they won't, more's the pity. Though anyone else with his string of crimes and sedition, attempting to overthrow the government, would hardly be still waking free as he is. And we know what happened to the Rosenbergs.

To this day I'm bothered that Dick Nixon did not die in jail.
Whenever I watch his resignation speech I'm terrified that at the end he'll say "I'm not a quitter, and I'm not quitting now."
Thank whatever deities there are, that never happens. He always resigns.
