Real Time with Bill Maher (HBO) - 4/26/24

I apologize that there are so few "official" videos available, this practice by HBO appears to have started a month ago. If any are uploaded in the meantime, I'll definitely add them. But I wanted to share what's available before the "bootleg" videos are gone.

RFK Jr. and Bill Maher Debate Vaccines

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joins Bill to discuss his stance on vaccine safety.

New Rule: Collective Narcissism

When “activism” merges with narcissism, it becomes more about the person protesting than about the cause.

Overtime: Scott Galloway, Don Lemon

Bill and his guests continue their conversation after the show.

Here's a "bootleg" version of the show which includes the entire interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Independent candidate in the 2024 presidential election (2:37); entire panel discussion with Scott Galloway, Professor of Marketing at the NYU Stern School of Business, host of the podcast The Prof G Pod with Scott Galloway, co-host of the podcast Pivot, and author of the new book The Algebra of Wealth: A Simple Formula for Financial Security; and Don Lemon, award-winning journalist, founder of Lemon Media Network (LMN), and host of the podcast The Don Lemon Show (18:04); Bill's "funny bit" (27:32); and the opening part of New Rules (41:30). It won't last long, as usual:

Great panel, fun show, but ... Kennedy? I see privilege, narcissism, incoherence, and tons of B.S.

A young Trump, but smarter.

2. I find him very tough to listen to - he sounds like speaking is painful for him.

I originally thought he was an environmentalist and when I was first on DU, a DUer who lived just north of me posted that he'd made a appearance there and I was sorry I'd missed him. I really don't understand why he's running, he stands no chance except as a spoiler and what would his father think??

3. Maher seems to be confused about Hamas and the Palestinian people.

Most of the people living in Palestine do not support Hamas, but Israel is indiscriminately attempting to wipe out the entire region and anyone living there. This is genocide.

Genocide is abhorrent no matter who does it. And just as most Palestinians don’t support the violent attacks committed by Hamas, most Israelis don’t support the violence committed in Palestine. Netanyahu needs to be stopped.

Sometimes Maher makes some good points, but mostly he’s a bloviating buffoon.

Seventy-one percent of Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank believe Hamas made the right decision in attacking Israel on October 7, according to a new poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research.

Ninety-one percent of Palestinians, according to the survey, do not think Hamas has committed war crimes, and 93 percent say the terrorist organization did not commit the well documented acts of rape and civilian slaughter that took place on October 7.

This from the AP...

Despite the devastation, 57% of respondents in Gaza and 82% in the West Bank believe Hamas was correct in launching the October attack, the poll indicated. A large majority believed Hamas’ claims that it acted to defend a major Islamic shrine in Jerusalem against Jewish extremists and win the release of Palestinian prisoners. Only 10% said they believed Hamas has committed war crimes.

5. The thousands of Palestinian people (many of them children) already dead don't get to participate in any polls.

It’s wrong to wipe out an entire population of people in Gaza, it’s called genocide.
It was horrible that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, but this ongoing slaughter and starvation of Palestinians is even worse.
Even international aid workers and journalists are targeted for death in Gaza.
