Bo Zarts's JournalPithy quote from TPM re: Trump legal actions ..
A lawsuit without provable facts showing a statutory or constitutional violation is just a tweet with a filing fee, said Justin Levitt, a professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
Praise Jesus! And the sign He sent me late today.
The sign was the Duke Power bucket truck on my street. Then the all-powerful Jesus flipped the switch. And I now have power! Amen, brothers and sisters!
Survived Zeta .. but one of 499,999 Duke customers without power
Wish I could post a photo of my rig. Running a Honda 2kW generator and 200W solar panel into a Goal Zero 1500 W/hr lithium-ion power inverter. Exactly the same power setup I had at Pinyon Peak fire lookout in Idaho this summer.
But running much more off the system here at my studios on the Blue Ridge Escarpment. Computer, device charging, and modem .. just like at the lookout. But also a refrigerator, a TV, a phone system, a few lights, and more, here on the mountain.
I have a dual-fuel range, so I can cook on the gas cooktop. Grilled a bodacious NY strip on the outside cook station tonight. Heated up some collards and mashed potatoes .. and what a great meal by headlamp.
I dread dawn tomorrow .. Zeta.
Im on the Blue Ridge escarpment, at 3200 feet. Totally exposed to the dirty side of Zeta. It will be at its worst, here, between 6 am and 9 am.
But I have my wilderness fire lookout gear. Honda 2Kw generator, Goal Zero lithium ion power pack (1500 w-hour), multiple head-lamps and flashlights, candles, and a propane cooktop.
Ill check in tomorrow morning. I hope.

How did Paul Simon know? In 1973?
One of the best tunes from one of the best albums of my lifetime. So applicable today that it is scary.
Parts of this album were recorded at 3614 N Jackson Hwy, Sheffield, AL (the incredible Muscle Shoal Music Studio). It introduced us to the Roches, Magi & Terri (RIP).
Rhymin' Simon sez:
"And I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees .."
Me. You?

The Zen of a Wilderness Fire Lookout: Chop Wood .. Haul Water
The wood is obvious. The water is in the brown cubies behind me on the lookout catwalk. Each cubie holds 5 gallons of water, at 8#/gal. (40 pounds). I hauled them all up the trail from the truck-park .. at almost 10,000 feet. There are 15 cubies, not all in the photo.
I lost over 20 pounds this fire season. I am in better shape than I have been in years. I feel great! I am 72.
After a fire season in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, with no TV and scant news (my choice), I emerged with one question: "Who is the President now?"
