Does Donald Trump, as a private citizen, have a right to keep his tax returns private?

Then, why should that change once he becomes President?

Just because he said he would release them? But they always seem to be "under audit"?

But, there is a law on the books. This would not be a precedent. Congress got Nixon's tax returns under the same law. Does Donald think he is more important than Nixon?

Why should not the Congress request the tax returns of someone who is being investigated for being in cahoots with foreign governments, and whose financial interests he is protecting? There may be a threat to our national security.

Why shouldn't the Congress investigate?

Send it to the Courts, if necessary.

And it does look necessary.

Why did Barr feel the need to inform the people that Mueller was helping him to redact the report ??

When is Mueller no longer the Special Counsel?

Should we assume that he is still working under William Barr and Rod Rosenstein?

If Mueller is still working with Bill Barr, should we assume that they have a plan? Or are they going in opposite directions? I tend to think they are working together.

Perhaps Barr was trying to re-assure the general populace with his announcement?

If they indeed are working with a plan, then it must include educating the Republican Party. They must believe that the Republicans cannot handle the truth?

The first step in their plan may be to release a very redacted copy of the report - not enough to satisfy the Democrats and just enough to whet the appetite of Republicans - but to bring the non-believers along a little at a time?

Then again, they may indeed be at loggerheads?

They have already warned you that there was "sensitive" information on every page.

Translated:

More than half of the report will be redacted and unable to read.

That should be unacceptable to everyone.

Democratic message that needs to be repeated.

Most Americans want to see the Mueller report. What do they have to hide? Why did they change their minds? The American people paid for the report and they deserve to see it.

This should be stated over and over, just like the Republicans would do it.

It is obvious that Trump and the Republicans are going to obstruct every inch of the way.

Also, it is becoming more and more obvious that they are lying when they say that no man is above the law. No, you cannot see the Mueller Report. No, you cannot see the tax returns. No, you cannot subpoena for any information. No, Congress has no right of oversight of this White House.

It appears that the rule of law is broken?

The political Parties are at loggerheads. They cannot come to a political solution and they cannot follow the written law.

What options do Democrats have but to take everything to Court? It will be up to the Judicial Branch to define our present laws and what our democracy will look like in the future? Is that the direction we are headed?

This is a constitutional crisis and the Courts must be the referee.
