What I would like to hear Bob Mueller say:

"I have always been someone that followed the law by the book. But when someone has no respect for the law and is willing to break the law or ignore it, then the book must be followed more closely than ever. We cannot permit lawlessness in our society or our government."

...

"We investigated the Russian attack upon our election system and our democracy. It was a sweeping and systematic attack. We should expect our leaders to address the problem. They should fix our election system, as a bare minimum. It is unfortunate that some have chosen to ignore the attack upon our democracy."

...

"There was a reason I did not indict Donald Trump for obstruction and conspiracy. It was not because he was not guilty of the charges. It was the policy of the OLC that a sitting President could not be indicted. No one person can make a decision to indict and get rid of a lawless President. That is the job of Congress if they think it meets the requirement of high crimes and misdemeanors."

...

"I have resigned as the Special Counsel and I am now a private citizen. So, I speak as a private citizen, not affiliated in any way with the White House or the government. That is why I have come to the conclusion that I have reached."

...

"It is my conclusion that there has been unprecedented lawlessness from this Administration. There has been many instances of abuse of power and obstruction of a legal inquiry. Although we did not find a person or a document showing there was collusion between this White House and the Russian government, it is my strong conviction that there is enough circumstantial evidence to charge conspiracy against the United States."

Sincerely,

Robert Mueller III

I don't think we should put too many chips on Robert Mueller.

I do not think he will try to discredit Bill Barr in any way.

He will say that it was Bill Barr's decision to make, whether or not he agreed with him. That was how the Special Counsel law was written.

He will say that Congress has their rights and responsibilities delineated by the Constitution.

He will admit thst we were attacked by Russia in a "sweeping and systematic fashion".

He will say he called them the way he saw them.

He will not tell the Congress what he thinks they should do.

He will be a very cautious and careful witness.

If it all ends up in the Courts...?

Would it be resolved before the election?

And which Party would it most likely help?

In my opinion, the Courts would stick with precedent and agree that the Congress has the power of oversight of the Executive Branch and should have access to all documents and witnesses requested.

Would Trump ignore judicial review? If he did, what would be the recourse??

If Nadler were to take to court all those that refuse subpoenas to testify, how long would it take to get a judgement? Would the Courts rule in his favor?

Should the Democrats continue trying to get the White House to cooperate or should they just hold them in contempt of Congress and let the Judicial Branch settle it? The sooner the better?

Donald Trump does not believe our election system was attacked by Russia in the last election.

If it was attacked, it was probably some 400-lb man sitting on his bed.

If he did believe we were attacked by Russian cyber units, then he would not be making love calls to Putin to discuss his strategy in the Russia investigation. No true American would act in such a way. It is a disgrace.

It doesn't matter what Party he presently belongs to, it is still a disgrace.

He should be reprimanded and censored on the floor of the US Senate. Then he could join his hero, Andrew Jackson, as the only two presidents ever to be censured.

He has no respect for our country.

One thing that all Republicans need to hear:

Donald Trump is not a Republican. He is not a Democrat. He is not even an honorable American.

He is a con man. He is a carnival barker. He is for whatever advances the interests of Donald Trump. He is not for advancing the interests of America.

Donald Trump has donated to Democrats many times in the past. He donated to Hillary Clinton.

"Yeah, but he is against abortion and gives us the judges that we want".

"He has given us jobs and a good economy", some might say.

He also gave a two-trillion dollar tax cut to the wealthy.

Exactly.

But all good things come to an end and you will still have Donald Trump.

And Donald Trump is Putin's puppet.

Logically speaking, what would the impeachment/conviction debate in the Senate look like?

What would be the Republican arguments against conviction?

What would be their argument against the obstruction charges?

What would be their argument against the 251 contacts with the Russians?

What would be their argument about defending our national security?

How could they ignore all the evidence that Democrats would present and still maintain political viability?

Of course, they understand that they only have to persuade their supporters to hang on to their seats. But how many can hang on to their seats with only the Trump base voting for them?

What would be the best argument that the Republicans could come up with in an impeachment trial?

Republicans are attempting to blackmail the Democratic Party.

How?

They are threatening to begin hearings on the FISA Court and to put in jail the guilty parties. They are following the lead of Putin's puppet, Donald Trump. "Lock 'em up!", they yell.

It should not be seen as idle threats. AG Barr has already said that he is looking at the origins of the investigation. He has been egged on by Senators, like Lindsey Graham, to get to the bottom of it. The scary part is that they have the power to do it. There is no reason to believe they would not use that power.

They want the Democrats to drop their investigation and their hearings and accept the Mueller Report as AG Barr interpreted it, and let it go. They are attempting to blackmail the Democrats into no oversight of Donald Trump.

AG Barr had the very uncomfortable moment with Senator Kamala Harris the other day, when she asked if the White House or anyone had asked or suggested that he open an investigation on anyone? He did not answer because he did not want to tell the truth.

It was pretty obvious that there were discussions of investigating the political enemies of Donald Trump. They have their own enemies list. And there is no guarantee they would not use their power to start putting people in jail.

Democrats will not surrender to these blackmail tactics.

A question: Did Trump call Putin or did Putin call Trump?

I was under the assumption that Trump called Putin? Is that true?

For what reason would he be calling Putin at this time? No doubt, he wants to believe the Russia investigation and other charges are over. He has stated that "it's over".

It is rather strange that his orbit and that of Vladimir Putin are so close. His interest is in international business and making money, maybe not always on the up and front. After all, he liked doing business with Russia and dealing with the oligarchs.

It has become painfully obvious that Donald Trump is working for Donald Trump, not the United States of America. He doesn't care too much for our traditional allies, he likes his new friends, like North Korea, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and China. He prefers the strong dictators over the democratically elected leaders that have been our allies. Someday we may need them again?

It looks like Donald could not wait to tell Vlad the good news? The Russian "hoax" is over, he said. Putin said it started as big as a mountain and ended up giving birth to a mouse. Both agreed there was no collusion.

However, the Mueller Report said something entirely different.

The Last Straw... it's time.

To impeach.

The entire Executive Branch has nothing but contempt for the Congress.

The Congress are the elected Representatives and Senators of the people.

The Congress has the responsibility of oversight. When there is obstruction or abuse of power, or high crimes and misdemeanors, they cannot overlook it. They would be shirking their responsibilities.

They also have the power of the purse, according to our Constitution.

The White House has no right to with hold information requested by the Congress in the act of oversight. They need to see the full Mueller Report. We paid for it and we deserve to see it.

It is contempt for the Congress and our Constitution.

There is no purpose in wasting our time with impeaching Bill Barr. He is just a symptom of the problem. It is time to start the impeachment process against Donald Trump.

Today was the last straw. The Mueller Report is being digested by the American people, who are told over and over that there was "no collusion and no obstruction". Those that read the evidence are shocked at the extent of the corruption.

The question asked by some Democrats is, but will it hurt us in the next election? Sometimes we have to stand up for a principle far beyond politics. This is one of those times. What will the Republicans do?
That is up to them.

It is time to start impeachment proceedings and subpoena the full report and whatever other documents or witnesses that might be needed. If they balk, fast track it to the Supreme Court and get a decision. In my opinion, it is a gamble that must be taken.

Today's phone call was the cherry on top. While the ink is still wet on the Mueller Report, which states that after a two-year investigation and numerous indictments and arrests, there was Russian interference in our election system in a "sweeping and systemic" fashion. Did someone not tell Donald Trump?

Who knows? Perhaps more people will wake up when they see the facts and hear from the witnesses?

It is time to do what the Constitution requires.
