Author of His Own Misfortune

It always puts a smile on my face thinking about how many hours a day Trump spends reflecting on what his life would be like right now if he'd never been elected.

Were it not for his desire for political power, he'd be spending his days on the golf course, the most pressing thing on his mind being what flavour ice cream he would have for dessert. He'd probably still be 'living under the radar' of the IRS, still generating revenue by cheating contractors out of their fees, still being lauded as a self-made billionaire and savvy businessman - instead of being publicly exposed as the conman he's always been.

Had Trump never been 'pResident', his lawyers would be presenting him with contracts for potential TV shows and product endorsement deals, instead of coming up with implausible ways to try to keep him out of prison.

Donald once had it 'made in the shade', getting away with criminal behaviour in NY state by throwing his fame and his money around - but due to his own ego and arrogance, he's finally facing charges that all the money and fame in the world can't make go away.

Please don't chime-in with replies about how he doesn't think about where he'd be right now if his 'pResidency' never happened - because you know damned well he does. He thinks about it all the time, those halcyon days that once were and could still be, if only those little fingers hadn't reached beyond what they could grasp.

Ivanka was the canary in the coal mine

Throughout the disaster of the Trump era, no one defended, protected, and championed Donald more than his daughter Ivanka - and no one was more openly enamoured of his beloved daughter than dear ol' dad.

And now Ivanka has put as much distance between herself and her father as is humanly possible - refusing to be seen with him, refusing to stand with him during his bid for re-election, refusing to be at his side as he confronts his legal woes - even to the point of changing her last name.

Is Ivanka trying to cover her own ass? Absolutely. Is she choosing to distance herself from her corrupt father out of fear of the consequences of her own potential entanglement in his crimes? Absolutely.

But there is something more telling here - the fact that Ivanka no longer sees Daddy Donald as having the power to protect her from what is about to unfold.

When the Darling Princess acknowledged that her Daddy Dearest is no longer the All-Powerful Ruler of the Castle, the rest of the kingdom should have taken note - and gotten out of town before it was too late.

Is the GOP DELIBERATELY trying to lose in 2024?

That's not my usual sarcasm - it's a serious question.

They suffered massive losses in 2022 due in no small part to their position on abortion, which the vast majority of voters think should be legal. Their response was to double-down on that position by passing even more draconian laws that restrict access to abortion, even in cases that most anti-choicers feel should be recognized - such as incest and rape.

They know that voters are outraged by mass shootings and increasing gun violence. Their response has been to pass legislation that makes firearms even more accessible.

They persist in holding out complete whack-jobs as the "face" of their party - people like MTG - instead of party members who don't rant about Jewish Space Lasers. peach-tree dishes, and the Gazpacho police.

And last, but certainly not least, they still champion their "front runner", a man who has already been indicted twice (with more indictments to come) - a man who they KNOW has zero chance of winning the GE next November.

What is behind the GOP's current 'political strategy'? They don't have enough MAGAt votes to elect Trump, they're turning off what's left of the usual GOP voters, and they're losing the Independents who might otherwise have supported them.

Is this simply a case of the Republican party's willingness to go down with the ship, rather than admit they've been kissing the wrong asses all along?

Pace yourselves, Republicans

With all the outrage you're spewing over Trump's most recent indictment, you could come dangerously close to running out of vitriol by the time indictments #3 and #4 materialize - not to mention the trials that will follow.

Take a tip from Democrats. Despite our gleeful anticipation of what's ahead, we still haven't even put a dent in our emergency popcorn reserves.

Why all the freaking-out, Republicans?

So Trump will have to defend himself in court - big deal!

Have you forgotten that he is always the smartest guy in the room? Surely the savviest businessman who ever lived will dazzle the jury with his legal expertise, his unerring grasp of every topic on earth - not to mention his legendary eloquence and vast vocabulary.

If anything, you should be be anxiously awaiting his day in court, when he will prove his innocence IN ALL CAPS, and will be completely exonerated!

So stop losing your shit over this - just stand back and enjoy watching a stable genius in action.

By this time next year ...

At the rate things are going, Republicans will be describing Trump as a White House coffee boy, and the only people still supporting him will be the same folks still waiting for JFK Jr. to return from the dead to run as Donald's VP.

Guess which president ...

... current OR former, doesn't lose sleep at night worrying about who has 'flipped' on him?

Hunter Biden takes responsibility for his actions ...

... Republicans baffled!

"We've never seen anything like this," said one GOPer, "but we're sure this kind of conduct is anti-Christian, anti-American, and probably unconstitutional."

Congressman Gym Jordan immediately called for a full investigation into Hunter's guilty plea, vowing to "get to the bottom" of President Biden's son's failure to fight the charges against him. "Not a single ALL CAPS social media post about being too busy to file his taxes on time, not a single video claiming he's done nothing wrong", said Jordan. "This whole thing stinks to high heaven!"

Rumour has it that Lauren Boebert is filing impeachment charges against Hunter to have him removed from being the president's son, while Marjorie Taylor-Greene has taken a wait-and-see attitude until she can determine whether a man who lied about his drug addiction in order to possess firearms isn't "one of us".

If Trump is the GOP nominee in 2024 ...

... do Republicans actually believe that "they stole it from him TWICE" will be a viable talking point?

June 19, 2023

At the rate Republicans are abandoning science ...

... it's just a matter of time before they start jumping off high buildings, proving that gravity is just a WOKE opinion.
