Stuart G's JournalI will never forget this about so called, "Conservatives"..
It was four or five years ago, we were having a heated discussion on the old Ed Shultz board. The topic was universal
health insurance, and we were arguing how much better it would be to have that kind of health insurance, you know,
how much less expensive and more inclusive, quicker service, etc.... This was when King George the Fool and Liar was President..
.....Any way... one post after another..and finally one so called Conservative, supporter of Bush said words to this effect........
......"I just don't want to pay for anyone elses health insurance..Why should I pay their costs?"...
That was it, it was all about paying less taxes, simple greeed.
Nothing else mattered, its was all about paying less, and not paying someone else's health costs..
Ted Kennedy on Raising the Minimum Wage.
Just listen to what Ted said, about the Republicans.

Hunger in this particular country, the United States of America, is perhaps our saddest most shameful problem.
It isn't that we do not have enough food, it is distribution of that food to the people that need it.
this is very very sad indeed for us..
I need a link to the old DU to access old materials...thank you
Good News...Traffic Deaths at Lowest Level since 1949..
http://overheadbin.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/12/08/9305924-us-traffic-fatalities-hit-lowest-level-since-1949?chromedomain=usnewsBy Rob Lovitt, msnbc.com contributor
Annual traffic deaths in the U.S. have fallen to their lowest level in six decades, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Released on Thursday, the figures from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) show that highway deaths fell to 32,885 in 2010. That's the lowest figure since 1949 and represents a 2.9 percent drop from 2009 despite the fact that Americans drove almost 46 billion more miles during the year. Americans collectively drove about 3 trillion miles in 2010.
"While we have more work to do to continue to protect American motorists, these numbers show we're making historic progress when it comes to improving safety on our nation's roadways," said DOT Secretary Ray LaHood in a statement.
