BigmanPigman's JournalWhy do Mean Streets and Goodfellas have odd "mafia" style clothing?
Both films have really long, pointy men's collars and folded over, not knotted, neckties. I have been trying to find a source for this "look" and have had no luck. I have never seen these styles in other gangster films.
How do we get Americans informed about Biden's accomplishments?
I just came from lunch and this was discussed. It is the same old, same old...the Dems' accomplishments are not known to so many American voters. Dems get great stuff done decade after decade and many, many voters have no clue.
Mary Quant, Queen of British Mod Fashion, Dies at 93
https://www.wmagazine.com/fashion/mary-quant-dead-93-obituaryDame Mary Quant has passed away at the age of 93 on Thursday, April 13th, in her home in Surrey, England. The news was confirmed by her family, who told the Press Association of Britain the designer died peacefully. Quant will be remembered for her popularization of the miniskirt (there is some debate as to whether or not she invented the style) and her help in ushering in a new style of dressing in the 1960s, which would help put London on the fashion map.
SDG&E, PG&E, SCE propose billing electricity customers based on income
https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/local/working-for-you/sdge-proposes-billing-customers-based-on-income/509-a2e48373-bfe7-4e4b-9767-30cdb7564082"The proposal is part of a new state law requiring utility companies to come up with fixed-rate plans to make billing more equitable."
"SDG&E, along with Pacific Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison, teamed up and a proposal to charge people based on their income."
"Currently, you not only pay for how much electricity your household uses, but other things such as how that electricity is delivered.
Both prices vary month to month.
SDG&E's plan is to offer residential customers a fixed delivery rate every billing cycle, no matter how much electricity is used.
What could that look like?
Under the current billing system, at 47 cents per kilowatt hour, the average customer pays $188 per month.
Under the fixed rate proposal, the customer would pay $181.
Hybrid
Here's a breakdown of where you'd fall based on your income.
Households earning less than $28,000 a year would pay a fixed delivery rate of $24 per month.
Households earning under $69,000, that fixed price goes up to $34.
Households earning between $69,000 and $180,000, that price goes up to $73.
Households earning over $180,000 dollars will pay $128.
Everyone's average kilowatt hour rate drops from 47 cents to 27 cents."
What was the point TN was trying to make by expelling them?
Honestly, I'd like to know what the purpose of this political exercise was? What were they trying to accomplish? Is it a power wielding agenda or are the TN GQP just really, really disorganized and dumber than dirt?
Which states are the most and least obese?
https://wisevoter.com/state-rankings/most-obese-states/#:~:text=West%20Virginia%20is%20the%20most,an%20obesity%20rate%20of%2039.4%25.The 10 most obese states are :

2. Kentucky 40.3%
3. Alabama 39.9%

5. Mississippi 39.1%
6. Arkansas 38.7%
7. Louisiana 38.6%

3. Colorado 25.1%
4. Massachusetts 27.4%
5. California 27.6%
6. New Jersey 28.2%
7. Washington 28.8%
8. Vermont 29%
9. New York 29.1%
10. Rhode Island 30.1%
It is interesting to note that all the top 10 least obese states are located on either coast of the United States, suggesting that lifestyle factors such as physical activity outdoors or access to fresh produce could play a role in keeping Americans healthier than other parts of the country where obesity rates are higher due to lack of access to exercise and healthy food options as well as other socio-economic factors like poverty levels or employment opportunities which can impact ones ability to make healthy choices when it comes to food consumption or exercise habits. Furthermore, all these ten states have some form of legislation against over-sized portions or overly sugary foods which could also be contributing factors towards their respective low obesity rates when compared to other regions across America that do not have such regulations in place yet show higher rates of obesity overall than these top ten least obese states combined.
Do you think they will return to their seats?

Tennessee House Expels 2 Democrats Over Gun Reform Protest
Source: Forbes
Tennessees GOP-controlled House of Representatives voted Thursday to expel two Democratic members for participating in a contentious gun reform protest in the State House last week, but failed to expel a third Democratmarking the chambers first expulsions in years.
Tennessees House voted 72-25 to expel Democratic Rep. Justin Jones, and voted 73-23 to expel Rep. Justin Pearson, after the three lawmakers faced scrutiny from their peers after protesting for gun reform on the floor of the House chamber.
A vote to expel Democratic Rep. Gloria Johnson was just one vote shy of meeting the two-thirds majority needed to expel a representative, with 65 representatives voting in favor of the measure and 30 voting against itJohnson, who is white, later told reporters she believes the difference in the vote count might have to do with the color of our skin (Jones and Johnson are Black).
A special election will be held to fill the empty House seats, though the expelled representatives can also run and return to office.

Has anyone seen those TV ads for Lume vaginal and anal odor?
Is it just me or are they sort of gross to be on TV. I don't like hearing about crotch and ass odor while I am watching Rachel Maddow or Chris Hayes or just about anything on MS NBC and I am now being inundated with more of these ads on this station and others.
Lawrence is opening with it too.
