David Johansen

Last night I watched one of my favorite old sci-fi movies, Freejack. I think Mick Jagger was brilliant in it. Both my wife and I wanted to know where we saw Brad before. A quick search on IMDB pulled up David Johansen, known for Scrooged and a few other movies we hadn't watched, so why did he look so familiar?

And then I got it. Buster Poindexter. Specifically, the song that is the bane of his existence:

As Poindexter, he scored his first hit song, "Hot Hot Hot",[8] which, in an interview on National Public Radio's Fresh Air, he called "the bane of my existence" due to its pervasive popularity

Delving in to his Wikipedia page further, wow. I honestly never connected him to the New York Dolls, or really, any of his other projects. I am now on a quest to listen to his works. But in the meantime, here is the bane of his existence:

Defending his 2020 fraud claims, Trump turns to fringe Jan. 6 theories

Defending his 2020 fraud claims, Trump turns to fringe Jan. 6 theories

Ever since he was indicted on charges of interfering in the 2020 election results, Donald Trump has relished the chance to use the case in Washington as a venue to air his baseless claims of fraud. Now he is using it to circulate a new set of falsehoods: that the federal government staged or incited violence at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to discredit Trump and his supporters.

From WaPo: Growing U.S. anger with electric utilities finds its epicenter in Maine

I found this article really interesting. It discusses the current situation in Maine regarding utility ownership, as well as related issues impacting many of us.

I have lived in Maryland since before Paris Glendening signed in to law the deregulation of electricity in 1999. Since then we have been listed as having "average monthly residential electric bills in Maryland were the 4th highest in the nation". This was before the recent Texas outrages, and what is in this article.

It's clear that our current system is failing the people it serves, and needs to be fixed somehow.

About ZERTErYNOthe

The username means nothing, it was randomly generated, but now I'm stuck with it. I grew up in a liberal Christen household, and my education is why I support Democratic ideology. I was a child of politicians, and was apolitical until I went through the trauma of 9/11 (I worked next to the white house at the time), anthrax, the metro accident, and so much more. What I witnessed made me understand why I need to be political.
