3Hotdogs
3Hotdogs's JournalToday, at local supermarket. The woman ahead of me, got her stuff through the conveyer and paid. She was loading her
stuff into the cart while my purchase of about 10 items was being scanned
She turned away, then slipped her credit card into the reader and proceed to leave. It looked like she was just trying to leave a donation to the food bank. I advised her to be careful, she was paying for my stuff.
She immediately left. I put my card into the reader, when the cashier said it was already paid for by the woman ahead of me.
I put the stuff in the cart and chased after her to verify that paying for me was her intention.
It was. "Merry Christmas."
I thanked her and left, my feeling was that she got more joy from the gift than I did from receiving it and so it was a win-win.
Fresh bear poop in Voorhees State Park, this morning.
At least one bear is not in hibernation.
Apple Watch. I'm reading the specs on this. Ya can "double tap" the screen to get things done.
And it measures blood pressure, ekg and on and on.
Problem is, I can't figure out how to use most of the features on my "14."
Here's one for ya. NEW car. Land Rover. What do you figure? 75K?
So I'm in a parking lot and this woman asks me if I can show her how to turn on the heater. It's 30 degrees out. She just ought it and the temporary license is on the back of the car. she can't figure how to get heat into the car.
"Sure, I can do that."
I spent about 10 minutes, pushing every button and combination of buttons and dials on the dashboard. Fuck if I could get any heat out of the vents.
Maybe it was a computer malfunction.
iPhone 14 this afternoon. I was on a phone call with a friend. LOUD, static noise came over the phone.
I had trouble hearing in my left ear, since. I suspect there was permanent damage from i.
Tammy Murphy signs up to run for Senate.
Nice lady, and all that. But do we need a Senate who was a Republican until 14 years ago?
Bankruptcy or just go for settlements?
I have $18k of credit card debt with B.o.A.
--- I have been paying it off for two years. Not late, or anything. Just got a notice that the interest rate will go to 29.8% Fuck that? $5,000+ just for interest.
I can pay it off. But fuck 'em. If it was 15% or something reasonable, I would continue paying it off.
My choices are to not pay for a couple of months and then negotiate for a settlement of 5%. Or go for full bankruptcy and include a couple of other debts. Either way, my credit score will be in tatters. So what? I'm 81 years old and with no assets that can be attached.
Which would you recommend? Settlement or bankruptcy?
14 Days to Alice's Restaurant
On Thanksgiving, our town has a community sing of Alice.
Netflix price increase ...... The programing is getting less and less interesting.
I just downgraded from ultra streaming to whatever the next lowest is. I doubt I will notice a difference in viewing quality..
Apple is worse. Nothing inspiring since Ted Lasso. That dog has been dropped.
I may end up canceling Netflix and just go on it once every three or four months for a month.
Most of my time has been spent on Prime.
The banking fuck-up --- have you been effected?
Direct deposits and Zelle transfers are not happening.
