My ex brother in law's father was foreman for one of the big ranchers in Modoc County and he used to hire us to help him guide antelope hunts back in the day. He was also one of the original "State of Jefferson" people and he had one of the original flags in his yard and a living room full of photographs of the old timers in front of the courthouse in Alturas.

We used to think it was all bullshit but then we found out it was the real deal.
