Media found some dirt on someone working with AOC, and rather than pay attention to the content of what AOC says (particularly about the mistreatment of children at the hands of ICE and border guards, corporate corruption of government, etc.), they will have pundits beat on this controversy and avoid the truly critical issues that affect us.
Dogs are awesome (I love dogs and never associate them with the b* word...that word no longer really has anything to do with dogs in our modern vernacular...it's been relegated to the swear word bucket for me). Give them a bone and they can be very aggressive and one-track-minded in wanting to hold onto it. That's where the saying comes from. Dog, in this case is the general media, more specifically, those who are more than happy to distract us from issues that really matter (especially if the distraction itself has some truth to it).
