this is nothing. Sure, being confined to quarters sucks, I hate it too. But all you have to do is stay home, watch movies, drink bourbon, or whatever.
During the war, you could be sent off to be killed in the slaughter. If you were here at home, you had rationing. I suspect our grandparents would have marveled at our grocery stores even as picked over as they are today, compared with the difficulty of getting basics like sugar, flour, etc.
And yes, everyone did it for the "common good", including republicans.
