Republicans having had the opportunity to prove themselves patriotic Americans instead chose [View all]

to betray America and cling to the toxicity that is trump.

There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that every one of the senators who voted to betray America today will pay a price they cannot yet appreciate, but will cry mightily when payment is due. Knowing full well that trump attempted to destroy democracy and overthrow the government they said “yes, give us more of that please”. Knowing that trump relished and gloried in the murder, chaos and mayhem brought on by his deranged terrorists attacking our seat of government: They said “yes, we like that, give us more please”. Having been warned that “everything trump touches turns to shit”, they asked for more.

They will find that , like the proverbial albatross, they have immersed themselves in the toxic sticky stench that is trump. It will cling to them not only contemporarily, it will be their eternal shame marked and noted down through history. Assassins of democracy will be their legacy, cowards in the breech, backstabbers to the constitution, they have turned their senatorial offices into chamber pots of shamelessness.

They have guaranteed the end of honorable republicanism, no contemporary Republican member may walk with his or her head held upright let alone high. Anyone who continues to maintain Republican association from this day on is saying they approve of the terrorist attack on our seat of government. Their individual shame is only magnified in the gathering of evil that their collective presence represents. They had a chance to do the proper, constitutional and moral act and they threw America away.
