My son-in-law was just admitted to the hospital with a pulmonary embolism in his lung. [View all]

He works in a care facility in Pierce County, WA, and they have had a recent outbreak of COVID. His assistant tested positive last week, and my son-in-law has been sick all week. I live in Oregon, and we drove up to the Seattle area yesterday to drop off Christmas presents but stayed socially-distanced. He just tested negative yesterday, but the hospital thinks it is COVID. They have started him on heparin. My daughter is very sick, too, and had surgery last month. She has been struggling with recovery from that and now this. She is barely keeping it together, and we don't dare be with her as we are in our 60's. I feel super-stressed and very worried. Her 11-year-old is with her, and he has our phone number. Ironically, my son-in-law is scheduled to get his vaccination on January 6th. What a nightmare this is.
