.... jaunt to Cancun was causing and if he intended to run for president in 2024 it was best he got his ass back to Texas during the catastrophic state winter storm shutdown.

Soaking up the sunshine on a beach on some out of the country resort area might not play in the press nicely for Cruz.

So Cruz hightailed back here and blamed the beach vaca party on his daughters and the family dog.
